Newfoundland鈥檚 Ennis Sisters are celebrating their sixth聽annual holiday tour and for the first time, taking their award-winning three-part harmonies throughout Ontario, Saskatchewan and Alberta this November and December.

Performing everywhere from Huntsville, Ont. to Fort McMurray, Alta., with 23 Canadian dates in total, the Ennis Sisters 鈥 Maureen, Teresa and Karen 鈥 will be performing at the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts in North Battleford Saturday, Dec. 12.

The Battlefords will be able to welcome the Christmas spirit with the Ennis Sisters, and their multi-generational interpretations of seasonal classics that have sold out shows across Newfoundland year after year.聽

The Ennis Sisters were born and raised on Irish Newfoundland tunes. Their father is a traditional button accordion player, and their mother grew up on the southern shore of the Avalon, surrounded by music. Throughout the Ennis Sisters鈥 childhood, if their parents weren鈥檛 making music, it was coming through the radio 鈥 particularly the Irish Newfoundland radio shows, which aired Saturday and Sunday mornings.

鈥淭here was just no escaping the Irish Newfoundland traditional music growing up,鈥 says Karen. 鈥淲hen we first began singing for an audience, these were the songs we sang. It's what came easiest and most natural, and still does.鈥

With multiple accolades 鈥 a Juno Award, SOCAN Award, multiple East Coast Music Awards and Music Newfoundland and Labrador Awards 鈥 the Ennis Sisters are world-renowned performers whose inspirational harmonies, humourous recitations, Irish step dancing and engaging stage rapport lift spirits and warm hearts. An East Coast Family Christmas with The Ennis Sisters offers timeless tradition, and features carols and holiday tunes of past and present.

The Ennis Sisters are known for their signature holiday hit I鈥檒l Be There Christmas Eve, from their 1998 release, Christmas On Ennis Road, and their tribute to the great Dermot O鈥橰eilly, A Children鈥檚 Winter, from their album, It鈥檚 Christmas, released in 2012.聽

Having grown up singing in the church, the Ennis Sisters have crafted a 20-year career with albums such as The Fortunate Ones (2012), Lessons Learned (2009), Be Here For Awhile (2007), Can鈥檛 Be The Same (2003), Ennis Sisters (2001), Three (2000), Red Is The Rose (1997) and most recently Stages (2014).聽
