Canada Day weekend at Glenburn Regional Park was outstanding.
Mel Deagnon arranged weekend jam sessions starting July 1 and ending July 3. Musicians got together to perform for the crowds that gathered all three days to listen to their music. There were musicians from British Columbia, Calgary and Edmonton, Alta., Hafford, Maymont, Wilkie, Battleford, North Battleford and elsewhere.
Dave Fouhy provided the flat deck for a stage.
July 1 there was face painting, a dog show, a petting zoo and Bretto's Outlaws ball team who played against some of the people camping in the park. Fireworks awed the crowd. Judy at the concession had a full house for supper both days.
New talent was discovered as Michael Fortier from Langham belted out some great sound. This young man had never sung in front of a crowd before.
The 107th annual July 1 picnic was held at the Ruddell Community Centre. Tom Pain highlighted the afternoon bringing his beautiful team of horses and wagon giving rides throughout the afternoon. There were games, old fashioned lemonade and ice cream to enjoy, followed by a potluck supper and social. Organizers were Liz Smith and Erin Soule.
The Community of Ruddell welcomes back Ed Seifert.
Birthday wishes to Denise Bernier, Joeleen Milman and Greg Ducharme.
