It's hard to believe that we are already entering the final week of this year's Battlefords Kiwanis Music Festival. It's not too late to catch the last couple of days of vocal entries. Although they began Tuesday, they continue through Saturday, March 17. Don't miss the always fun evenings of musical theatre. Saturday morning features some of the adorable younger entrants and Saturday afternoon showcases more advanced local talent. We thank adjudicator Michele Hupaelo of Saskatoon for expertly supporting the five full days of vocal entries.

For the final round of sessions, we welcome Peter England of Saskatoon, who will adjudicate band students March 20 and 21. On Tuesday, March 20, all sessions (morning, afternoon, and evening) are 小蓝视频 held at the North Battleford City Kinsmen Band Hall. Wednesday, March 21, there will be a morning session at the North Battleford Comprehensive High School in the lecture theatre with the final afternoon session back at the band hall. Scheduled are solo, duet, and ensemble presentations from beginners to accomplished seniors. If you enjoy large ensembles, then you won't want to miss the morning at NBCHS as it is exclusively designated for several of these exciting performances.

Remember, all festival sessions are open to the public. Donations towards festival expenses are gratefully accepted at the door of venues. Most importantly, make sure to congratulate all performers for their accomplishments and successes.

The celebratory gala and awards 小蓝视频 will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, March 23 in Logie Hall at Third Avenue United Church. Admission is $5 per person or $15 per family with free admission for award recipients and award presenters. We are excited to have for the first time a gala sponsor, 2Extreme Limousine, to cover the cost of snacks and refreshments available at the close of the awards 小蓝视频.

Come on out to enjoy a few adjudicator-chosen highlighted performances from the festival and to help honour the numerous young people from our community receiving special recognition courtesy of local individuals and businesses.

"My father is a real idealist, and he's all about learning. If I asked for a pair of Nikes growing up, it was just a resounding 'No.' But if I asked for a saxophone, one would appear the next day and I'd be signed up for lessons. So anything to do with education or learning, my father would spare no expense." - Hugh Jackman
