The storm which occurred July 18 is still causing issues for many Payntonhomeowners who have water and wind damage not covered by insurance. The Village of Paynton has applied forand received disaster relief status for the residents still in need of assistance.The paperwork toapply for yourdisaster relief funding is available at the village officeif you have damage not covered by insurance.
The Paynton volunteer fire department has finally retired old Betsy in favour of a newer, bigger, faster emergency response machine. The truck was delivered to the village Aug. 30. There will be training on the new truckprovided to the volunteers as soon as it can be arranged. If you would like to be a part of the Paynton volunteer fire dept., stay tuned for the training date or leave your name at the village office.
The Paynton farmers' market isready to wrap up for the season. After a long summer of gardening and creating, the vendors in Paynton have a wide variety of goodies like fresh farm eggs, beautiful baking and produce from local gardens. Themarket is also a great place to find gifts such as ceramics, art, crafts, photography and quilts.The last market will be held Sept. 27 at Paynton Arena from 4-6 p.m, and there will be a Christmas craft sale in November.
