Congratulations to Robert McBain and Cassie Rudishyn of Waseca on the birth of their fourth child, a girl, born Aug. 27.

Both of the school buses travelling out of Waseca have "first time" passengers. Damien Granger and Paige Schonhofer are the kindergarten students travelling with Ruth Sutherland and Santiago Mendez is riding on Sandra Sutherland's bus. Both buses have well over 30 passengers.

Chelsea Sutherland and her sister Kimberly with daughter Sara of Calgary, Alta. spent some time with their grandmother, Ruth Sutherland, this summer.

The Waseca village office received a bit of a "facelift" during the past week when outdoor painting was done.

It is also back to university for students. Luke James and Cole Sutherland are both attending the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and both are studying kinesiology. Morgan Thomarat is attending Lakeland College Vermilion campus and studying environmental protection and monitoring. Best wishes to all for a successful year.

Sandra Sutherland, accompanied by her mother Eva Sutherland and Crystal Sutherland travelled to the Hafford area Saturday to see the crooked trees. This patch of trees is an unexplained natural phenomenon and is interesting to see.

Congratulations to Eva, since she has once more become a great-grandmother. Her son, Bruce, and wife Sheila have just become grandparents.

Mark Thomarat and Brenna Banks leave for Hawaii this week. They plan to spend a few months there and hope to find work while there.

Ruth Sutherland was recently a hostess for the "five day club," which is part of a church program. In this case children spent an hour for five days singing, doing crafts and listening to Bible stories. She reports it was a happy time.

Did you know that when flying, your body loses water at twice the normal rate, which can be up to five ounces per hour? To avoid dehydration on a long flight, one should drink eight ounces of water every hour and an additional glass for every cup of coffee you drink.
