Soccer teams undefeated in Thunderchild tourney

I have been seriously thinking about no longer writing for the Edam area, however, I have been complimented on the stories I have submitted and I'm sure there are people who would be disappointed if I should throw in the towel.

I have been seriously thinking about no longer writing for the Edam area, however, I have been complimented on the stories I have submitted and I'm sure there are people who would be disappointed if I should throw in the towel. In order to get the news to the paper, I need assistance from those who are involved in the events I'm not able to get to. I know everyone is busy with their lives, but so am I.

Now that I have had my rant, we will get on with the happenings of the area. The handi-van committee held their first bingo of the season Oct. 14. The fundraiser will be held on the second Friday of the month with the next one Nov. 11. Winning the 10 games for hams were Sandra St. Marie, Heather Mosimann, Bonnie Letwinetz, Jeanne Pollard, Frank Poole, Ryan Bec, Braxton Letwinetz, Brenda Pollard, Rose-Ann Corbeil and Margo Young-Brewster. Winner of the blackout game for a turkey was Macey Levasseur. Thanks go out to Paul and Margo Young-Brewster and Eddy and Kay Mannix for the prizes for the children's draws for the evening. Winning those were Carlie Mosimann, Jaycee Letwinetz, Ryan Bec and Jessica Curry. Hats off to caller for the evening, Annette Blaquiere.

Oct. 18, the H. Hardcastle School Grade 5 and 6 classes travelled to Thunderchild First Nation School to attend a soccer tournament. It was an excellent fall day for the event. The boys went through the day with a total shut out with no goals against and brought home the championship once again. The girls' team also went through the day undefeated, but had shootouts in their third and championship game. Congratulations on your wins and thanks to Brandon Doom for organizing the day.

Congratulations to the trip of the month winners for September, Ray and Charlene Seipp and to Charlie and Yvonne Kobes who won $100.

That is it for this week. I will have the results of the 21st annual Edam Fall Fair next week.
