So far, to be enjoyed is this unseasonable mild winter. Many residents find it a pleasure to be out, most days.
Many new residents are calling Tower I home. Welcome to each one and may they truly enjoy living here.
The decorating committee has been hard at work, creating an eye-catching array of Valentines around the first floor area.
However, we did remain indoors long enough to enjoy a shuffleboard tournament Jan. 25 and 26. The games ran smoothly, thanks to the work of the referees, Phyllis Maloney, Alice Horn and Ruth Hrynewich. Many thanks to Joan Bannerman for keeping the playing surface smooth as glass, and for keeping score. Not to be forgotten is the work done in the kitchen by Dorreen Svare and helpers supplied us with delicious lunches. Winners and runners-up are: A Event - Phyllis Maloney and Amelie Murray, Dorreen Svare and Joyce Campbell; B Event - Maideleine Blouin and Don Osborn, Winnie Hamm and Mary Zawada; C Event - R. Alice Horn and Raphael Kalichuk, Rene Gagne and Yvonne Hanson; D Event - Lois Sherwood and Joan Bannerman, Betty Moore and Olga Gresiuk.
On Jan. 18 a nice birthday party was held to honour all those claiming New Year birthdays. Music for dancing was provided by Jon Sloan, Pius Fritz and Doreen Duchnitsky. Many happy returns of the day to Winnie Hamm, Helen Munn, Lise Watch, Phyllis Maloney and Esther Chapman.
Phyllis Maloney celebrated her birthday in grand style Jan. 21. A party, well attended by family and friends took place, including her friends here.
On Feb. 5, another birthday party was held in honour of Rene Gagne's 83rd year. Many family and friends came to enjoy.
Our best wishes to some of our residents who have the worry and anxiety over loved ones who are very ill at this time. Please rest assured you are in our thoughts.
