We are enjoying the fall weather even though we are experiencing some below zero temperatures at night. The geese are still around feeding on the stubble fields and many of the leaves are still making a colourful landscape. It is such a good fall for famers and gardeners to get so many seasonal jobs done.
Service was held at St. Paul's Forest Bank Sunday. The churchyard had been mowed the day before and much of the dust had been washed off the trees and grass by rain that fell earlier in the week. The next services will be the Christmas carol service and the Christmas Eve service.
Christine Pike and Maureen Bexson spent the Thanksgiving weekend attending the annual Nature Saskatchewan meeting held this year in the Cypress Hills. Members enjoyed nature by taking a number of planned hikes. One interesting one was through a lodge pole pine forest. There were interesting speakers, one of who spoke about cougars whose population is growing in the Cypress Hills area.
I enjoyed an interesting Sunday. In the morning I travelled to Cut Knife to take part in an installation service for the parish's new priest, Father Frederick Akah, who hails from Nigeria.
The service was held in Cut Knife's beautiful Roman Catholic Church. A dinner and social time followed.
The drive there and back was beautiful, but before coming home I spent some time visiting with a former Waseca resident, Marion White.
