School hosts Remembrance Day service

The Remembrance Day service at Maymont Central School was held Nov. 10. Remember: remember the one who died, even if it's not Remembrance Day. Many thousands died everyday; thousands more lost brutal battles. Everyone remember, remember all who fall.

The Remembrance Day service at Maymont Central School was held Nov. 10. Remember: remember the one who died, even if it's not Remembrance Day. Many thousands died everyday; thousands more lost brutal battles. Everyone remember, remember all who fall.

Highlights of the school service included the Eulogy to the Unknown Solider (Adrienne Clarkson, CBC documentary), the choir singing Craig Cassils' Heart to Heart, The Last Post followed by one minute of silence, Reveille, the laying of wreaths, the SRC and community members shining a light for peace and the singing of God Save the Queen. Lunch followed.

Car-Mel Country and Friends played at the Battleford Legion Nov. 11. The house was packed, the food was delicious and I'm sure everyone enjoyed themselves. Thank you to all the volunteers and the committee members who put on this event.

Saskia and Darrel played at Maymont Hall Nov. 12. What a great evening. Thank you Saskia and Darrel for stopping in at Maymont to entertain us. We all enjoyed the concert very much.

There was great Christmas shopping at the trade show held at Maymont Hall Nov. 13. Thanks to everyone who joined us and thanks to the library committee who put on the lunch. Sherie and Eva, you did a great job organizing.

Congratulations, Bill and Darlene Melrose and Alvin and Susan Rothenburger who became grandparents Oct. 4 to twin girls Kennedy Jordan and Kamryn Reese. Parents are Chad and Adena Rothenburger.

Twins: There's two to wash, there's two to dry. There are two who argue, there's two who cry. One's in the mud having a ball; the other holds a crayon - another marked wall. Some days seem endless; my patience grows thin. Why was I chosen to be a Mother of Twins? The answer comes clear at the end of each day, as I tuck them in bed and to myself I say: there's two to kiss, there's two to hug. And best of all there's two to love. (author unknown)
