After a two-month summer recess, St. Walburg Royal Purple resumed their monthly meetings Sept. 12.
Dorthea Hocher, Honoured Royal Lady for 2011-12, welcomed 22 members dressed in purple and white. The treasurer reported the presentation of the lodge's annual scholarship to Jessica Hawryluk at the June graduation.
Two members benefited from buying raffle tickets. When provincial president Lena Wezniak made an official visit, she sold tickets on an amethyst necklace, earrings and ring set, which was won by Jenny Looshorn. During the summer we sold tickets on a playground set. It was won by Rosemarie Veenstra.
Colleen MacDonald is this year's provincial president and will be visiting North Battleford lodge Nov. 16. Her theme for the year is "Recruit, Revive and Retain."
Lady Jean Steinacher and Lady Thel Rompff represented the lodge at the funeral of Lillian Zawadke of North Battleford Lodge.
The Diamond Ring Dinner is Oct. 29 in Saskatoon. Several local ladies plan to attend.
The Supreme Honoured Royal Lady Sharon McLean visited Cut Knife Lodge Sept. 19. Local members attended.
September is the month the lodge members deliver meals on wheels and drives are in place.
Judy Seguin, representing the St. Walburg Historical Museum, gave a presentation with a plea for a donation. Because this is a heritage building in need of renovation and preservation the lodge donated $10,000 to the project. Another $250 was given to the St. Walburg Eagles Hockey Club for advertising in their program and at the arena.
HRL Hocker said it gave her great pleasure to present Lady Mary Novlan with a 55-year pin.
Celebrating birthdays this month are Joyce Fowler, Irene Kerr, Jenny Looshorn, Judy Helperl, Betty Melanchuk, Donna Hall, Yvonne Beeching and Lyn Pierson.
Martha Johnson volunteered to help with bingo at the health complex this month.

Sept. 7, Elks and Royal Purple members gathered at Dennis Schlekewy's yard for the annual corn roast. It was a hot day and a beautiful evening. Perfect for enjoying the get together.
