The young people of the village and area keep busy with basketball, figure skating, hockey and bowling.
The community centre has been the scene of several parties over the holiday season. This week will see it busy with a wellness clinic and quilting activities. Membership in the centre is available. Members use the centre as a source of activity. A pool table, a small library, many games and a shuffleboard are there to enjoy.
One of the first public events to take place at Waseca Rink will be held Saturday, Jan. 21. A mini carnival has been planned and will give skaters an opportunity to try out their skills. It will also be a time to see what has been accomplished at the rink by the hard working volunteers. Coffee, soft drinks, hot chocolate and hot dogs will be available.
The rink board is looking forward to hosting this event.
I look forward to receiving items for this column. Former residents, now living elsewhere, look forward to the news.
