I'm back from a holiday in Prince George, B.C. where the weather was no different than it was here. I had a very good time anyway.
A number of residents from the apartments and Pine Island Suites enjoyed the Christmas supper and program at the seniors' centre Sunday. Although it snowed and was a bit windy, everyone enjoyed the evening.
Emerson Innes of Edmonton visited his aunt,Jean Stewart, brother George, sister Ann Reeds and niece Laureen Reeds.
Kelly and Roy Gabruch of Medicine Hat, Alta. have been visiting with their mother, Tillie Linkert. They all enjoyed the Rankin family concert at the Vic Juba Centre in Lloydminster.
Tillie Linkert enjoyed the carol festival in Wasea Sunday. She went with Sharon Reeds and Anne Reeds.
Glen Inkster from Irma, Alta. was to see his mom, Eva Inkster, on a pre-Christmas visit as he will be away at Christmas time.
Frankie Johnson, a former Paynton resident, stopped by to see Eva Inskter. She was pleased as she hadn't seen him for a long time.
Theresa Kennedy and I enjoyed the Christmas supper at the Legion Saturday. A good crowd attended, and Santa was there to visit with the little ones
Norma Hougen and I drove to Claire Paton's. She took us to Neilburg for the Lilydale United Workers annual Christmas dinner. Instead of gifts we made a donation to the Salvation Army. We had an enjoyable time with a short meeting and visiting. We were sorry Mae McConnell, Hettie Richardson and Marie Ried were unable to attend.
We would like to welcome Pat Attfield, who moved into apartment No. 24. We hope you will enjoy your new home and be able to meet us all.
Also welcome to Monty Clarke who has also moved into the apartments. I called on him yesterday but he wasn't in. We hope you enjoy your new place.
Audrey Bertand had the misfortune to fall and hit her head and bruise and cut her arm last week. We wish you all the best, Audrey, and hope you will be well for Christmas.
Colleen Koski took her mom to Keith and Verna Milner's 50th wedding anniversary. Congratulations to them and we wish you the very best for more happy years.
Colleen Koski took her mom, May Ford, to Lloydminster for an appointment and did a little shopping.
A large crowd enjoyed Tuesday evening at the suites. The Smokin' Sisters band led by "Lu Lu" started the evening with Christmas songs. Drums, bells, shakers, cymbals and blocks kept time to the music played by Frances Petterson. Margaret McLaren was a jolly MC assisted by Gil Churn. Anne Reeds served a beautiful lunch. Thank you everyone, for a wonderful time.
