Nearly five inches of rain has fallen in this area during the past few days. Sloughs have appeared in the fields. We did need rain. We are fortunate, however, not to have had as much as has fallen in southern Saskatchewan where conditions are desperate in places.
Lorraine (Broadhead) and John L'Abbe of Kanata, Ont. recently spent a few days with Bernice Hope.
Some events have been rained out recently including the Standard Hill ball tournament. Several people from this area take part in the tournament including Brett Pike, Chris Blyth, Tyler Johnston, Randy Pike, Rick Johnston, Keith Pike and Kevin Pike.
On the weekend of June 4, Christine Pike attended a "nature" annual meeting at Saltcoats. The friendly atmosphere, nature trips and meeting of friends made at this meeting throughout the year are always a pleasure.
On the weekend of June 11, Christine Pike and her sister, Maureen Bexson, attended a Speckle Park meeting at Hannah, Alta.
