Harvest operations have advanced quickly during the past week, however the forecast for Monday was for showers. Let's hope the forecasters were wrong, as they are so often.
The killing frost we experienced last week ended the growing season for gardens. Now comes the clean up.
John Evans of Calgary is spending some time with his parents, Keith and Eileen Evans, to lend a hand with the harvest.
Sept. 11, Christine Pike enjoyed a visit from a friend, Peggy McAlister of Calgary. Sept. 10, Peggy and Christine visited Lashburn Museum, where Peggy donated the saddle of her father, the late Stan Burden. He had purchased the saddle in 1929 from Riley McCormick in Calgary. Peggy did extensive research with the company about the saddle and this information was donated along with the saddle to the museum.
Mark Oddan of Saskatoon spent some time on the weekend visiting with his grandmother Helena Pike. Hew as helping with the harvest at the farm of his parents' Maurice and Ellen Oddan.
