Rivers' Edge Quilters met March 30, with 14 members present. It was reported that 12 pet blankets were delivered to the animal shelter to be enjoyed by our four legged friends.
March was a busy month with members participating in a paper pieced project led by Marilyn Wallace. Pillows were made for the needy, led by Arlene Schwab. A trellis block pattern was taught by Joyce Vany, which some made into table runners, some made into lap quilts and others made into placemats. Debbie Burwash of Corner House Quilts in Macklin taught a class on a starlet table runner. Pat Downie, program co-ordinator, thanked all the ladies who taught classes in March.
The month of April will be less busy with no quilting until April 19. The schedule will be left open to finish projects. The next meeting will be a supper meeting May 4 at 6 p.m.
On a personal note, I would like to thank Lois and Gail and the ladies of Fabricland for the fabulous quilting prize package I won in the National Quilting and Craft Month contest. I will put it to good use.
