Unity is proud to have been chosen to host the Provincial Zone Bantam Boys' and Girls' Softball Championship. Teams have been practicing and playing since July when teams were selected. They are eager and ready for action this long weekend, looking to win the title of Provincial Zone Champion. Many of these players were also heavily involved in hockey tryouts and volleyball camps and tryouts so their dedication to multi-tasking will pay off this weekend on the diamond. Spectators can look forward to some terrific softball action, as well as all the goodies that are offered at the ball park. Weekend and day passes are available. So if you still want to catch one more ball game or so before the snow flies, the diamonds in Unity will be the place to be.

You always can appreciate small-town businesses, which are usually taken for granted, when you attend an event in the city. After hosting my parents' 50th anniversary in Saskatoon this past weekend I was dismayed when, upon having plumbing issues at the venue, we could not find a business to either rent us a portable toilet nor find someone to come on a Saturday afternoon to help us out. Thankfully my nephew worked with a plumber and was able to get his boss to come and help us. I just know, from experience, in our community this would have been looked after within minutes. So that my friends, is reason to appreciate your small town businesses ...
