Having put a new heating system in Waseca Community Centre, the committee members are planning more improvements there. Fundraisers will include three pie bingos to be held on Friday evenings, April 13, 20 and 27 at the centre and they will sponsor the annual Waseca Walkathon April 29.
Our sympathy goes out to the family of David Goodwillie, who passed away at Porteus Lodge, Saskatoon at the age of 69 years March 26.
David was born to John and Ina Goodwillie in Maidstone Hospital on April 29, 1942. He spent the first eight hears of his life growing up on his parents' farm south and east of Waseca close to the Battle River. He attended Battlevale School for a couple of years. Then the family moved to a farm close to Waseca where he finished elementary school. He attended Maidstone High School and went on to the University of Saskatchewan where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a Bachelor of Education. Following that he spent 30 years as a teacher, most of those years in Maidstone High School.
David married Darlene Organ and together they raised two children, Ian and Karyn.
After retiring, David and Darlene moved to Saskatoon.
David was a person with many interests and hobbies. He had a special love for nature ;and spent a great deal of time in his bloved Battle River Hills.
David left to mourn his passing, his wife Darlene, daughter Karyn and son Ian and his wife Michelle and two grandsons as well as a host of friends.
Funeral service was held for David March 30 at McLure United Church, Saskatoon.
