Over 100 people attended Maymont's jam and potluck supper March 24 at the Maymont Memorial Hall. The potluck was a great meal. The entertainment was fantastic. Thank you, guys and gals, for joining us. Thanks for the volunteers and hall committee that helped set up tables, chairs, etc., and those who helped clean up.
As some of you know, our own Patsy Cline has been very ill (Murielle Kotalko). We'd like her to know that we missed her very much at this jam session on the weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Murielle.

Retirement is a time for feeling glad to be alive, a time when friendships blossom and enthusiasms thrive. A chance to do the special things you always wished you could. Retirement is a special time for knowing life is good. Congratulations on your retirement, Darlene.
Darlene took over the post office from Harvey Johnston 35 years ago, in 1977 at the age of 20. It has allowed her to make many new friends as well as raise her family at her home. Her job itself has changed so much over the years, but the one thing that remained the same was the enjoyment she got out of visiting with each and every one of her customers. She will truly miss that. She will now visit with her friends in the garden or out in the yard. Darlene would like to thank the citizens of Maymont and the surrounding communities for the past 35 years. Darlene said the growth she's experienced over the years is because of her customers.
When you read this article, Mel and I will only have six days until we leave for a long-deserved holiday. You'll be happy to know Maymont News will still continue. My replacements will be Mary and Kari Carpentier. You may know Mary as a Williams before she became Mrs. Bert Carpentier and Kari is one of Bert and Mary's daughters. I'm sure they will keep you updated on the news and, if there's no news, maybe they can conjure some up. Good luck, girls. If you do well, maybe you'd like to take over.
There will be a trade and craft show at the Maymont Memorial Hall Apr. 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anyone wanting a table, please call Sheri at 389-2004. Tables are $15. Admission to the trade show will be $3. It'll be a good time to buy those birthday, anniversary and any other gifts you might need, or maybe a gift for yourself.
Maymont hall committee held their annual meeting March 21. The executive remains the same: Mel Deagnon, president; Neil Milman, vice-president and Jay Babineau, secretary-treasurer. The seniors held their stew and biscuit supper plus entertainment March 29.
