The Drama Club at NBCHS is getting themselves ready to put on two shows this month.
The club branched into two groups this semester to perform two brand new productions. Both scripts were written by members of the drama club, Nightshift by Sam Burns and Sean Newton, and Lost Connection by Kay-Lynne Collier.
The club will put on a home performance March 26, and then head to Paradise Hill March 29 to compete in the regional drama festival.
Newton describes Nightshift as, "A spin on the coming of age story."
It is a comedy which aims to glorify the teenage part-time job. A parade of pop-culture references and self-referential humour, makes the production an ode to the night time, and the true self-realization it can bring.
Lost Connection turns the other direction, finding the true psychological torture that can come with too much time spent alone. The show journeys through a spiral of insanity keeping the audience wide awake for what Collier promises to be a "huge visual performance around a terrifying story."
The shows will be performed at NBCHS March 26 at 7 p.m. Tickets, available at the door, are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
