Over $415 was raised Dec. 18 for the Battlefords Empty Stocking Fund at the eighth annual Christmas music program sponsored by the Sandwith St. Philip's Presbyterian Church.
About 100 adults and children enjoyed the community singing and the talented performances from the musicians, vocalists and choirs, The volunteer talent came from as far away as Saskatoon and North Battleford as well as those from the local area. Three violins, a flute and a trumpet joined with the piano to make a harmonious background for the final community singing of a Christmas carol.
The collection of $415.66 was the largest to date and brings to $1,771.64 the total contributed to the Empty Stocking Fund.
The St. Philip's group is happy to be able to organize this event and is grateful for the wonderful support received from the surrounding communities. They look forward to sponsoring another successful Christmas music afternoon in 2012.
