Congratulations to Ivan and Ilene Youchezin on the birth of a new grandson - Levi Michael, born Jan. 5 to Neil and Jackie Youchezin of Clavet. Levi, a new baby brother for Cameron, weighed seven pounds, four ounces.

Borden School news - Basketball is in full swing at the school with tournaments upcoming in January and playoffs set for the juniors Feb. 8-11. The senior boys played in a tournament in Dalmeny (hosted by Hepburn) against Hepburn, Duck Lake and Dalmeny and came out second with Duck Lake number one. The junior teams are in tournaments Jan. 14 - girls at Vanscoy and boys at Hepburn. They played in Blaine Lake Jan. 7.

School curling is ongoing and they practise in Radisson Fridays, with playoffs Feb. 3-4 for juniors and 10-11 for seniors.

Semester exams run Jan. 24-27, with no school Jan. 30 for the semester turnaround. Report cards are out Feb. 3.

Hopefully many of the K-12 will be entering the Radisson Royal Purple Poster or Essay Contest with its deadline of Feb. 3, to be judged Feb. 6 locally. Borden students have done videos and these hopefully can be looked at before the deadline.

Borden School grad cap and gown photos will be taken Jan. 9. Hot lunches will be available Jan. 11 and 25.

The Borden Snowmobile Rally slated for Jan. 21 is in doubt due to the lack of snow and the prospects are not good for much snow in the next two weeks. The committee was to meet Jan. 10 to decide on what to do or to pick another date. Orolow Church, northeast of Borden, on the way to Krydor, are holding their annual snowmobile/ATV rally Saturday, Feb. 25 from 11 a.m. to last rider out at 2 p.m., with a food concession open.

The Radisson Swimming Pool bingo is Jan. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Radisson Town Hall, and Jan. 19, the Borden Museum is holding a Whist Drive in the Seniors' Room at 7:30 p.m., to which players of all ages are welcome.
