Michael Rault and Colleen Brown brought their music to the Battlefords Saturday for the first concert of the Battlefords Jazz Society's new season.
The diverse, near-sellout crowd danced to both Colleen Brown's smoother, more melodic songs and to Michael Rault's more aggressive rockabilly and '60's influenced music. When Michael Rault broke into Gloria near the end of the first half of his set, only a handful in the audience were still sitting, with almost the entire crowd of over 100 people on the dance floor.
"It appeared that everyone was having a very good time and thoroughly enjoying the music. That is what gives us the most satisfaction, presenting very high quality musical entertainment and witnessing the enjoyment that it brings our audience," explained Laird Brittin of the Jazz Society.
The Jazz Society's next concert should take place in late January or early February. For more information on the Battlefords Jazz Society, or to purchase a membership, contact Laird Brittin at 446-3210.
