Richard Curling Club held a supper and entertainment March 17. The entertainment was supplied by Jody Peters, a comedian. Peters is an adopted black man raised by white (Mennonite) folks on a farm in Saskatchewan. As his poster says: "Charming, likeable and energetic, his unique world-view is as endearing as it is funny. As raucous as he is thoughtful, Jody gives us a peek into his world of stand up comedy, and what it was like grow up as the only black person in an all-white, small-town Saskatchewan community. In the end, Jody's lesson for his son is that people are people no matter what their cultural differences. 'Being accepted for who you are is all about accepting yourself.' The night was very enjoyable, Jody was really funny and the meal was great. Thank you to all those who organized and volunteered.

Kay Greenslade's 80th birthday will be celebrated with a social event at Maymont Hall March 31. Everyone is welcome. Please join us to wish Kay a happy birthday.
