What is the relationship between nature and beauty or human and non-human? How does this affect the production and reception of art?
These are the ideas explored in an immersive installation created by Terry Billings. Flash is presented using video images, auditory recording and other media. It will be at the Chapel Gallery from Feb. 1 to March 13.
Terry Billings is a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University, the Alberta College of Art and Design and the University of Saskatchewan. She is the creative partner for the mentorship program that is currently in its second year at the Chapel Gallery.
Flash combines the guiding principles of active contemplation of nature, beauty and the social sphere. Viewers will be challenged to think about these concepts and explore a new point of view.
Plan to attend the ballery reception for this exhibition and learn more from Terry Billings on Friday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.
The Chapel Gallery is located at 891 - 99th St. and is open from noon to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. For more information please contact the Chapel Gallery at 445-1757. Support is provided by the Saskatchewan Arts Board and the City of North Battleford.
