A pleasant spring seems to be leading into a nice summer. The vivid green of the foliage in the west valley is very appealing to the eye. One enjoys walking there, noticing the young birds growing up. This balmy weather has seen some residents take a holiday travelling.
Some pretty annual flowers have been planted in the front yard to add colour to the grounds. The garden plots are filled and some folks are busy planting their gardens. It is hoped this will be a successful growing season for all gardeners.
May 15, we enjoyed a visit from three members of WPD Ambulance. They spoke briefly of their work, then carefully described the symptoms of heart attacks and strokes. It is good to have these sessions as one tends to forget over time.
The party to celebrate the special days of those born in May was held May 11. Sweet sounding country music, featuring tunes both and new, was brought to us by Jon Sloan, Pius Fritz and Doreen Duchnitski. Many took happily to the dance floor. Birthday cake with ice cream and peaches was served. Happy birthday to Cindi Smith, Velma Fisher, Dorreen Svare, Peter Mykytuk, Ann Kornelyk, Dennis Roger, Joyce Milnthorp, Dennis Pietras and Marj Byhette.
A warm welcome to a new couple who recently moved into our complex. May they find much pleasure in joining in our activities.
Sincere sympathy to the family of Marie German, a resident here, who recently passed away.
