Fire prevention week had come and gone. It was marked by residents of Tower I as all attended a fire safety session held in the lounge Nov. 14. It was presented by Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Steinborn of the North Battleford Fire Department. He dealt with a serious subject in a lighthearted manner, making his sessions interesting as well as informative. His timely tips on preventing fires and helpful advice on acting responsibly in the case of one occurring will not soon be forgotten. Neither will his collection of items that had been almost destroyed by burning.

Nov. 16, we enjoyed a birthday party commemorating those claiming special days in November and December. Lovely old time favourite tunes were a joy to listen to as performed by Dwight Hemmerling, Leon Oche and John Archer. It all served to rekindle old memories as we seem to enjoy doing that. Birthday cake, ice cream and fruit rounded out the pleasant evening.

Happy birthday to those born in November - Lois Sherwood, Hugh Stacey, Raphael Kolichuk, Mervin Knutson, Louis Leite, Doreen Schneider and Frank Strong. Likewise to those born in December - Noella Sayers, Madeline Heidt, Dan Beloin, Winnie Collins, Marie Payachew, Mary Zawada, Gail Fineday and Rose Johnson.

Nov. 13 was a memorable day for Lois Sherwood, one we hope she relished. Being celebrated was her birthday as well as her retirement from the workforce. The lounge was suitably decorated for the occasion. Albums and pictures were displayed showing a busy life, many interests, frequent travel and much community involvement. In the background could be heard the lovely soprano voice of her granddaughter on tape singing classical music. Over 80 guests, friends, former co-workers, members of her interest groups and many of us, her new friends, enjoyed 小蓝视频 there.

A shuffleboard tournament took place Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. Twelve teams signed up to share in the fun. Many thanks to the folks who work hard to make these events enjoyable. Nourishing lunches are prepared in the kitchen. Referees keep the games running smoothly. The scorekeeper keeps an accurate score board. The players try hard to place that ever elusive best shot. Winners and runners up in each event are: A event - Betty Moore and Muriel Johnson, Madeleine Blouin and Lois Sherwood; B event - Raymond Ouelette and Louis Johnson, Rene Gagne and Eva Stevenot; C event - Joyce Campbell and Amelie Murray, Carl Schell and Raphael Kalichuk; D event - Karen Taylor and Noella Sayers; Dorreen Svare and Ken Elliott.
