A small turnout at the community planning meeting held in the Waseca Community Centre March 10 did not deter a lively discussion by those present.
Lenore Swystun of Prairie Wild Consulting was present to lead the discussion. She will be spending some time in the community in the near future, knocking on doors and trying to solicit information from individuals. Chris Schmaltz, Northwest Enterprise Region economic development officer will be assisting.
As an "onlooker" I hope the purpose of the meetings and information gathering will soon become more clear.

Accompanying this column is a snapshot of a weasel that is making itself at home around the Girbov home site. It helps itself to food scraps in the porch. Weasels are once again becoming more plentiful, both the short-tailed and long-tailed varieties. Weasels can be a pest, but in most cases they destroy farm pests such as mice and rats. We have been seeing more of them in recent months.
