Baljennie Community Club is dissolving the co-operative limited section of the club. At this time the club plans to reorganize and continue as before. This does not include the St. Bridget-Baljennie Cemetery as it still belongs to the church diocese, but is still part of our community. The community club looks after the yearly maintenance.

There is a misconception thawt we are completely closing down, but this is not the issue. As a Baljennie Community Club we are still keeping our club going and the building and contents intact for now.

When we feel, as a club, it is time to end Baljennie Community Club, notices will be posted. For now it all stays the same.

Once the co-operative limited section is dissolved, a new club, new name and new executive will take over. It will still be active to the Cemetery as its all part of the community.

A new executive has been elected until we are able to organize the new club - president Stanley Mills, secretary Irene Greer and treasurer Bill Rayner.

There are still some good active club members. Let's try to keep it as a community centre for activities or whatever we need for a few more years yet.

This year Baljennie School celebrates its 100th year. The school ran from 1912 to 1970 and still stands in 2012. It's time to have a celebration of some sort. The old school ran from 1912 to 1954. In 1955 a new building was built and still stands.

This has been a winter to remember. The snow plane people are all scratching their heads as they have not been able to holdmany snow plane rallies this winter. There is just not enough snow about to run them properly. One was planned for Feb. 12 at Buffalo Pond Lake if they got any amount of snow, but they did not. It had to be cancelled. Even areas of the ice was not fit to travel on let alone a snow plane. The second one was held at Invermay Feb. 18. They did not have a great lot of snow, but went ahead with the rally. There seems to be more snow the farther north you go. They had a good turn out of snow planes at the rally.

Schools in the area had a mid winter break for a week in February. Some students ended the first semester in January to begin another semester to the end of June. Then again lucky students get another 10 days from classes in April for Easter.

Spring is getting closer as each day passes. It still has not slowed down the little birds feeding at my open bird feeders. The seeds just disappear as fast as you put them out. This feeding season has broken all records at my feeders. Soon the little spring birds will be arriving for more seeds.

Feb. 21 at 9:45 p.m. while sitting alone quietly watching TV, very loud bang and rumbling noise filled the air for a few seconds. It did make a person wonder what had happened. Our windows do not face west so we didn't see the meteo fire ball falling to the earth. We soon heard the reports of the sudden sound. The meteorite possibly landed in the Rockhaven or Jackfish Lake area where the sound was much louder. It was seen in most of western Canada. Some remains may have been picked up.

We have sad news of the recent passing of John Strate of Perdue. Sympathy to all his family. John was active in the R.M. of Glenside, 小蓝视频 the weed and pest control officer for a few years.

February has passed by and we all did enjoy the extra day offered by Leap Year. It has been a very mild month and not to make snowfall in our area, but there was still the winds. Now what will March bring.

Looks like spring is early as March is just starting out with restricted road conditions and road bans going on some grid roads and highways early. With the mild days it does not take long for what little frost we had to come to the surface. As the days are getting longer, the sun is rising earlier and the sun rays are getting much stronger. We are getting a lot of lovely sunny days.
