With warmer temperatures, gardeners are spending more time outside preparing for planting.
Waseca Communities in Bloom group are already carrying out some of their plans with the transpalnting of perennials from a local garden into spots in the village.
This coming weekend will be a busy one in the village. Friday evening will be the final bingo held at the community centre. The pie bingos have been enjoyed by those attending.
Saturday, the village and cemetery cleanup and barbecue lunch will take place. Some focus will be on Christ Church, which will be prepared for interior painting.
Sunday the walkathon will be held. Those who are walking will gather at the community centre at 10 a.m. A barbecue lunch will greet the walkers on their return to the centre.
Sunday evening at 5 p.m the recreation board will sponsor the annual chicken supper followed by the annual community meeting that features reports from various committees.
A guest of Bev and Vic Hult last week was a former Waseca resident, Marcia Elliot who now resides in Nanaimo, B.C.
A number of Waseca students attending Maidstone High School had a busy weekend taking part in a regional badminton tournament held in Maidstone.
Barb and Rodney Weisner and family spent last weekend in Kenaston. While there they attended a family wedding.
Carl Axel Andersson from Sweden arrived recently to spend the next several months as a trainee with Vic and Bev Hult.
The Yellowhead Ramblers band had a busy time recently. On the weekend of April 14 they entertained at the Maidstone Trade Fair, Tuesday they played at Lloydminster Pioneer Lodge , Thursday they entertained at Hemstock Home in Lloydminster and Saturday at Points West, Lloydminster.
