Bingo was played at Maidstone Drop In Centre Jan. 11, with a small crowd in attendance. Callers were Margaret MacEachern and Bev Stewart. Dorothy Kissick assisted by Jean Stewart provided lunch.
Catch the 10 Whist was played Jan. 16 at the centre with small attendance, probably due to the cold weather. A draw was made for high and low, won by Jean Hartman and Jean Stewart.
Jan. 18, the Maidstone Seniors hosted a chili on a bun, dessert and refreshments noon luncheon. In spite of the -30 C weather, a good crowd attended Food for this money making event was provided by the members.
Regular Wednesday bingo followed with Margaret MacEachern and Jean Hartman doing the calling. Lunch was provided by Dorothy Harmel.
Cribbage was played Jan. 23 with a good turnout. It was a beautiful, warm sunny winter day. Lunch was provided by Dorothy Schwartz. High score went to Margaret MacEachern and low to Milt McMillan.
Two of our older members have passed away - Irene Alsager, who has been living with her daughter Judy at Williams Lake, B.C., and Joe Stakiw, who was living in Saskatoon. Both of these people were faithful, active members of our centre for many years until poor health required them to move elsewhere.
