The current exhibition at the Chapel Gallery is by nationally recognized Saskatchewan painter Terry Fenton.
"A Wide Horizon" captures the beauty, light and colour of the landscape in southwest Saskatchewan. Fenton is a Saskatoon-based painter, writer, critic and curator. He travelled the roads that are off the beaten path to create pictures that pay homage to the natural vistas of the Prairies. Each painting plays with light and colour to present a scene we may have looked at many times, but have never really understood until now. They capture moments in time and landscapes that we have all experienced as we drive along the back roads of Saskatchewan.
Fenton's works are in many private and corporate collections in Canada, the United States and England.
Don't miss the reception at the Chapel Gallery Saturday, June 11 starting at 7 p.m. This is your opportunity to meet Fenton and learn more about his approach to landscape painting. There will also be copies of his latest book, About Pictures, A Primer on Modernist Painting, available for purchase.
