Tammy Ramsay is a new author.
Her first book is published On the Wings of An Eagle. She hosted a book signing at the Battlefords and District Co-op Mall oct. 30. Her books are available in North Battleford and Saskatoon.
Raised near the Battlefords, Ramsay grew up on her parents' farm. She was always a busy person from the time she was a small girl. During summers she used to help her father and mother setting up pony rides and concessions and area events and fairs. They sold cotton candy and all the goodies concessions have.
For years she has accompanied her father and mother and brother, travelling to rodeos, sports days, pow wows. This busy life took care of the summers.
Being the busy person she is, Ramsay works at the co-op as a manager at the FF2 clothing outlet, where she has worked for the past 12 years.
On the Wings of An Eagle chronicles the story of a young First Nation boy who experiences life in a residential school and then goes on a spiritual journey to find not only himself but also healing and forgiveness.
The books, published by Guardian Books, has been nominated for many awards including Best New Canadian Author.- Submitted by Mary Baycroft
