The community was saddened to learn of an accident that claimed the life of Richard (Rick) James Wyatt May 28, while making a delivery of anhydrous ammonia.
Although he was from Cut Knife, he was employed in Neilburg and had touched the lives of many in the district.
Rick was born in 1952 in North Battleford. His funeral service was held from the Cut Knife High School June 3 with the Rev. Michael Stonehouse officiating. Rick is survived by his wife, of 36 years, Ann; three daughters: Tina (Roy) Schmidt; Shawna (Vince) Lisch; and Rayann (Kent);his grandchildren; his father, Harry Wyatt; and two sisters, Donna Wyatt and Karen Ray, as well as in-laws, nieces, nephews and their families.
The fundraising results from the Tough Enough to wear Pink Tournament for 2011 are in. There was a profit of $11,732 with half of this total going to the Neilburg Recreation Board. The remainder ($5,866) was given to the Lloydminster Regional Health Foundation. It will be divided equally between the mammography program and the Community Cancer Clinic. The tournament was a huge success and the hard work of organizers, and the support of various hockey teams and community members was very much appreciated.
