Hi there! It doesn't seem possible we are into March again. To me February has passed by so quickly. In fact I think I have been glued in front of the TV most of the time watching curling. Now this month I am off to the Brier in Saskatoon. I do hope our Saskatchewan team does well. Congratulations to Alberta who won the Scotties. Good luck in the worlds!
In the meantime we had a busy month here at the tower in February. We had a pizza dinner Feb. 10 that included two kinds of salads and dessert. This was a different kind of meal for us so it was certainly enjoyed by all.
Feb. 12th a tasty breakfast was served by our able cooking crew. The menu consisted of eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and toast. There were many here who took advantage of this great breakfast.
The Winterhalts came to entertain us on the evening of Feb. 17. It's always nice to have them come and treat us with their music.
Our birthday party for January and February was held Feb. 20. Congratulations and best wishes go to the following who enjoyed birthdays in those months.
January - Alice Bernier, Ada Pasutto, Shelley Bacheldor and Stephanie Gall.
February - Orville Fehr, Ida Baker, Harry Smith, Raymond Corbeil, Orlea Taylor and Shirley Tebay.
We entertained with Kaiser Bingo, which is always enjoyed by all.
Then our delicious dessert of cake strawberries and ice cream was served by the many helpful ladies.
I must again express thanks for all the assistance I get with setting up the head table, arranging the chairs, serving the dessert and making the tea and coffee. Also baking the cakes that we must have. I am most appreciative for all your help, ladies.
In the last report I promised you to find out about Anna Storgard's holiday. Well, she's back for a while so she told me she was in San Diego, Calif. to visit her son, his wife and three grandchildren. They made several trips to Disneyland, Las Vegas to enjoy some shows and some of the largest zoos and aquariums in that area.
This lady also flew to Sydney, Australia, where she visited her son. He is a doctor who specializes in cancer research. On her way home, she stopped off in Calgary to spend time with a son who lives there.
It's wonderful Anna is able to travel and enjoy visiting with her family. I'm sure her family are glad to see her, too.
Bev and Murray McCrimmon travelled to Stilock to visit their son, his wife and family. I'm sure it's great to enjoy your grandchildren, too, folks.
We are sorry two of our residents have moved out. Chris Pearson and Olga Ruzesky are going to nursing homes. We will miss you both, but hope you are happy in your new places.
In fact it was nice to have Olga and her daughter come to our lounge to bid us all goodbye and visit over coffee and goodies. Olga is 97 years old, but doesn't look it.
We are missing Winifred Webb, too. She is presently in a Speers nursing home. We hope she will come back and see us before she makes her final plans.
We know there is a lot of flu around now so do that we can all keep well and try to avoid that flu bug.
