TISDALE — A new Family Pizza restaurant has opened in Tisdale.
It opened Jan. 27 to the public and is located where The Spot was previously located.
Owner/operator Mandeep Singh said since opening the door they have been quite busy. Singh purchased the building five months ago. They needed to remodel the kitchen to suit their restaurant needs before opening the doors.
Singh immigrated to Canada in 2010. He was the first of his family to come to Canada. Singh took his education in Toronto at George Brown College for event planning, marketing and communications. Singh credits the program, and that type of schooling, to have helped him in all his business ventures.
Singh moved from Toronto, Ontario and came to Regina in 2011 and eventually made his way to Prince Albert to find work.
The owner of the Tim Horton’s on Marquis Road in Prince Albert, Cheryl Sander, gave him his first job. Singh said he was thankful for her wisdom and caring nature. Singh also wanted to thank the owner/operator of Family Pizza in Prince Albert, also named Mandeep Singh.
“He helped me in every step of starting up the entire Family Pizza business. He has been a great supporter and motivator throughout my journey.”
He said that he wants to get involved in the community and is in the process of sponsoring the Tisdale Trojans hockey club. He plans to take in a game soon.
Singh and his wife Dawinder Kahlon also own and operate a Quizno’s in Prince Albert.
Family Pizza is open seven days a week and offers dine in service and has delivery. Catering is available and you can call the restaurant for more details. Family Pizza employs 6 staff but are looking for students who could work the rush hours from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
