Town residents will see no increase in their municipal taxes this year.

HUDSON BAY – Hudson Bay council passed the 2024 budget at the regular meeting on May 14.

Amanda Purves, CAO said that there were no substantial changes to the general operating budget.

There was no increase to the municipal levy for 2024, but did see an increase in garbage collection fees on utility bills beginning in July. The residential will be increased from $5/quarter to $10/quarter, and commercial collection from $5/quarter to $15/quarter.

Purves noted that they are still waiting on an insurance claim for the arena ice plant and the Town is remaining hopeful.

Capital highlights:

- Arena ice plants $581,000

- Water line break detection tool $11,870

- Water line break enclosed trailer $18,020

- Ball diamond shale $25,000

- Fire department radios $20,000

- Fire department pump pack for side by side $10,000

- Paving projects (patches and capital) $95,000

- Waste disposal site leachate collection $1,062,000

Mayor Betty Lou Palko said council worked hard to keep the municipal levy the same and ensured that municipal taxes did not see an increase this year.
