HERGOTT: Virginia Elizabeth

August 25, 1936 – July 29, 2016

The death of Virginia (nee Feltin) Hergott of Watrous District Health Complex, Watrous SK (and formerly of Bruno SK) occurred at the Watrous District Health Complex on Friday, July 29, 2016. She was 79 years of age. Virginia was born to Joseph and Mary (nee Duerr) Feltin at Humboldt, SK. She grew up on the farm near Dixon and attended Dixon school. After completing grade 8 she was needed at home to help with her siblings. She later worked as a hired girl in Bruno where she met her future husband, Wilfred. They married on October 19, 1955 and made their home on the family farm west of Bruno where they raised a family of five children. Virginia loved living on the farm and assisting Wilfred with the farm duties. She was a passionate gardener and a wonderful cook and baker. She created a home filled with love and welcomed everyone into it. Virginia and Wilfred moved off the farm in 1992 to reside in Bruno where they continued their close relationship with family, friends, and neighbors. In 2005 Virginia was diagnosed with breast cancer and a number of years later with inclusive body polymyositis - a degenerative muscle disease. She faced these challenges with great acceptance. In these last years she was cared for and loved by her family, forever friends and the professional and caring staff of Watrous Manitou District Health Complex. Virginia had a kind, gentle, loving heart, adored her children and grandchildren and was so proud of them all. Virginia will be lovingly remembered by her children: Kathleen (Peter) Bielefeld and their family Sara and Kristin (Ryan) Painter; Debbie (Lyle) Thoner and family Mark (Shannon) Thoner and their children Rylan, Layton and Lauren, and Garett Thoner; Denise (Garth) Thoner and their family Rory (Angela) Hergott, Levi and Hannah; Robert (Tammy) Hergott and their family Brett and Ross; and Brian (Michelle) Hergott and their family Luke, Cole, and Ariel; sisters: Doreen Munro and Karen Moorman; and brothers: Joseph, Ronald, and Ken Feltin and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred Hergott in 2007 and her parents Joseph and Mary (nee Duerr) Feltin; sister Lucille Schlosser and numerous family members who all held special places in her heart.
