STADNYK : Victoria Victoria Stadnyk (nee Hyshka), age 85 years, of Humboldt passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 with family by her side. Victoria was born on January 1, 1929 at Peterson, SK to Onofry and Paranka "Alice" Hyshka.

Victoria Stadnyk (nee Hyshka), age 85 years, of Humboldt passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 with family by her side. Victoria was born on January 1, 1929 at Peterson, SK to Onofry and Paranka "Alice" Hyshka. She grew up in the area and attended school there. Following her education, she worked for various families in the Aberdeen, Viscount and Bruno areas, helping with domestic duties. While at a barn dance, she caught the eye of John Stadnyk, whom she later married on July 12, 1952. They lived in Bruno where Victoria was kept busy raising their seven children. In 1968 they moved to Humboldt. Victoria worked at The Corral, Modern Meats and then Murray's Men's Wear, where she was a seamstress. She had a passion for sewing, making wedding dresses and other clothing as well as doing alterations, which she continued even into her retirement years. She was an active member of All Saints Ukrainian Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and was president of the Ladies Auxiliary for 10 years. Above all else, her devotion was to her husband, children and grandchildren. She cherished their time spent together, especially on special occasions such as Christmas and birthdays. Victoria will be lovingly remembered by her seven children, 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren: Clarence Stadnyk of Kindersley and family, Clinton, Craig, Carmen and Cyley; Leslie(Vera) Stadnyk of Humboldt and family, Jason(Corinne Gamble) and children Marshall and Tanner, Jocelyn, and Renee(Darren) Jaeb and children Tenley and Hunter; Carol Stadnyk of Ottawa, ON and family Marcel Comtois and Rebecca Comtois(Nick Homiak); Elaine(Jim) Buchanan of Grande Prairie, AB and family Christopher (Kristin Cote) and David; Gloria(Ken) Dowse of Calgary and son Tyler; David(Laura) Stadnyk of Saskatoon and family David and Zoey; and Robert(Koreen) Stadnyk of Edmonton and family Chase, Chaz and Kimo; two sisters and one brother: Emily Towstego and Wally(Lucille) Hyshka, all of Saskatoon and Betty(Bob) Duncan of Rockhaven; in-laws of the Stadnyk family: Pauline Halowski, Sr. Yvonne "Jean" Stadnyk, Elsie(Joe) Diakow, Steve(Lillian) Stadnyk, Dr. Irwin(Barb) Stadnyk, Helen Stadnyk, Don Hurst, Helen Stadnyk, and Julian Warawa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Victoria was predeceased by her husband, John Stadnyk; father, Onofry Hyshka; mother Paranka "Alice" Hyshka; step-mother, Victoria Hyshka; brothers, Joe(Marge) Hyshka, Roman Hyshka and Bill(Ann) Hyshka and brother-in-law, John Towstego; parents-in-law, Fred and Alice Stadnyk; and in-laws of the Stadnyk family: Michael(Erlene) Stadnyk, Roman Stadnyk, Peter Stadnyk, Harry Stadnyk, Anne(John) Zmud, Francis(Stan) Hachkowski, Marion Hurst, Sally Warawa and Lawrence Halowski. The Prayer Service for Victoria was held on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Hwy 5 East, Humboldt. The Funeral Mass was offered on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, celebrated by Fr. Demetrius Wasylyniuk, OSB. Interment followed in the All Saints Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Humboldt. Memorial donations in Victoria's memory may be made to St. Mary's Villa Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt.
