KOSKI - It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Mrs. Theresa (nee Cox) Koski, 95 years of Surrey, BC and formerly of Humboldt. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Laurel Place Surrey, BC. Theresa was born on June 9, 1916 to Joseph and Cecelia (nee Mcguire) Cox of Sinnett, SK. She attended Sinnett School. On October 22, 1936 Theresa married James Koski and together they began their life in Humboldt and were blessed with eight children. A true homemaker at heart, Theresa kept very busy raising her family; she loved cooking, playing cards and gardening, especially tending to her flower gardens. After James passed away, Theresa spent time with various children until 1998 when she moved to BC to live with Janine, Bob and family. Theresa was always very devoted to her faith and family, which earned the respect of her children and grandchildren. Her strong will and determination was proven as she was the last surviving member of the Cox and Koski families. She had a great sense of humour and an amazing memory. Her heart was broken the day her son Ken passed away and she missed him dearly the rest of her days. Theresa's infectious smile and wonderful sense of humor will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her seven children 19 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren: Ken's family, Sylvia Koski of Humboldt and family Donna (Gord) Laverdiere and children Brynn and Cole of Regina and Shannon Koski (Joe Podiluk) and her children Erin and Shaye of Saskatoon; Carol (Clarence) Uhll of Kimberley, BC and son Rod Uhll (Fran Kellington) of Sparwood, BC; Gary (Margarita) Koski of China and family Susan (Jack) Krystofiak and children Julia and David of Lethbridge, AB and David Koski of Victoria, BC; Pat (Carol) Koski of Cranbrook, BC and family Doug Koski (Anne Maissoneuve) of Vancouver, BC and Craig Koski (Carolina Wakesuak) of Ottawa, ON; Brian (Rona) Koski of Calgary, AB and family Liana (Nathan) Geibelhaus of Calgary and Elise (John) West of Richmond, BC; Jim (Tania) Koski of Medicine Hat, AB and family Corey (Heather) Koski and daughter Ireland of Weyburn, Kristen (Aaron) Frye of Nashville, TN and Cameron Koski of Humboldt; Maureen (Emery) Cyfra and family Rebecca (Glen) Worm and children Colby and Tucker, Richard Cyfra all of Calgary, Carolyn Cyfra and Elizabeth Cyfra both of Saskatoon; Janine (Robert) Harriman of Surrey, BC and family Cari (Daymon) Anning and daughter Emily, Suzie (Donny Orr) Harriman all of Saskatoon and Patrick Harriman of New York, NY. Theresa was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Cecelia Cox; husband James Koski; son Ken Koski and grandson-in-law Mark Sawatzky. A prayer service was held on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. presided by Walter Sarauer, with scripture readers Richard Cyfra and Patrick Harriman. Words of remembrance were shared by Brian Koski and Janine Harriman. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. celebrated by Fr. Demetrius Wasylyniuk O.S.B. Others taking part in the service were: cross bearer Brian Koski and Jim Koski, intentions family members, gift bearers Corey Koski, Cameron Koski and Rod Uhll.
