The death of Shirley (nee Dyck) Schlosser, of Muenster, Sask., occurred after a courageous battle with cancer on December 8, 2011 at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt. She was 51 years of age. Shirley was born to Harold and Margaret (nee Nickel) Dyck on June 14, 1960 at Herbert, Sask. Shirley took her grades 1 - 7 at Clavet School, grades 8 and 9 at Allan, Sask., grades 10 and 11 at Viscount, Sask. and graduated from grade 12 at Muenster High School. Shirley owned a couple of businesses over the years in Muenster, working as a Party Lite consultant and operated the local restaurant. Her cooking talents took her to many places; St. Peter's Abbey in Muesnter, throughout Manitoba for the railroad, also to Yellowknife, Banff and Glacier National Park. Shirley served on the Muenster Town council for a number of years. Shirley's other hobbies included: baking, crocheting, camping and scrap booking. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her three children and three grandchildren: Jamie Schlosser of Saskatoon, SK; Devin (Amanda) Schlosser of Clavet, SK., and their children Bryn and Kayleigh; and Chalsey (Chris) Schlosser of Ormiston, SK., and their son Axton. Her three brothers: Leroy (Dee) Dyck of Prince Albert, SK., and their children David and Amanda; Wayde Dyck of Clyde, AB., and children Jenna, Jessie and Jayde; Stan (Bernie) Dyck of Humboldt, SK., and their children Chantelle, Rebecca and Gerad; and two sisters: Karen (Grant) Ebenal of Whitby, ON., and their children Adam and Brittany; Terry (Willy) Stolz of Humboldt, SK., and their sons Tyler and Colton. She was predeceased by her parents: Harold and Margaret (nee Nickel) Dyck; her nephew Leslie David Dyck; and her grandparents: David (Katherine) Dyck, and Eva Nickel. The prayer service for Shirley was held on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 7:30 p.m., presided by Gary Loehr. Others taking part were: Alyssa Afleck and Chantelle Dyck, scripture readers; and Angie Carriere, eulogist. The funeral mass was held on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Father Daniel Muyers, OSB, Fr. Paul Paproski, OSB, Fr. Bernard Stauber, OSB., Fr. Demetrius Wasylyniuk, OSB. Both were held at St. Peter's R.C Cathedral, Muenster, SK. Others taking part were: Colton Stolz, crossbearer; St. Peter's Cathedral Choir, music ministry; Alyssa Afleck and Chantelle Dyck, scripture readers; Dee Tysiaczny, intentions; Chalsey Schlosser and Amanda Schlosser, giftbearers; "All Those Who Shared In Shirley's Life", honorary pallbearers; and Stan Dyck, Leroy Dyck, Wayde Dyck, Gerad Dyck, Adam Ebenal and Tyler Stolz, active pallbearers. Interment followed at St. Peter's R.C Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Humboldt District Hospital Palliative Care. SCHULER-LEFEBVRE, Humboldt, SK.
