Thiemann: RaymondJune 25, 1924 - November 28, 2011
The death of Mr. Raymond Thiemann of St. Gregor, Sask. occurred peacefully at the Humboldt District Hospital on Monday, November 28, 2011. He was 87 years of age. Raymond was born on June 25, 1924 to August and Concordia (nee Richels) Thiemann on the family farm south of St. Gregor. He grew up on the family farm and attended "小蓝视频 St. Gregor", a country school in the same area. After finishing school, Ray began his lifelong farming career. On February 18, 1946, he married Katie Helmink, a neighbor girl, at St. Gregor. They made their home on the family farm south of St. Gregor, where they later built a new house in 1950, and raised their family of six children. Ray became widowed in 1998 but continued to live on the farm, which was his favorite place to be. He remained on the farm until about a month ago when he was admitted to hospital. The farm always remained his pride and joy. Ray took pride in keeping his John Deere machinery in tip-top shape. In his leisure time, Ray loved to play cards, Kaiser 小蓝视频 his favorite game. He also enjoyed listening to country music and watching baseball. Ray loved to stay close to home and entertain and host gatherings. He was also famous for teasing his grandchildren (who had a special place in his heart), and for playing practical jokes on them. Ray will also be remembered as a "rascal" who loved to have "fun". Ray is lovingly remembered by his by 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren: Agnes' family: Kelly Wiesner (Neil) and Kevin Wiesner (Natasha Thomas); Darlene Thiemann (Victor Haire) of St. Gregor; Gerald (Della) Thiemann of St. Gregor and family: Jeremy (Kim) Thiemann, and children, Braydon and Katie, Krista Thiemann (Kris), Jason (Amanda) Thiemann and daughter Ava, and Megan Thiemann; Debbie (Leon) Lueke of Humboldt and family: Jennifer (Christian) Tumback, Travis Lueke and Kayla Lueke; Yvonne (Gerard) Muyres of Saskatoon and family: Tracy Muyres (Angelo) and Ryan Muyres (Danielle); and Sherilynn (Tim) Kiefer of Humboldt; 1 sister, Mary (Anton) Gusikoski of Viscount; 1 sister-in-law Helen Thiemann of St. Gregor, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by his wife Katie (nee Helmink) Thiemann (Jan. 15, 1998); daughter Agnes Wiesner (Dec. 17, 2010); parents August and Concordia (nee Richels) Thiemann; 6 brothers: Clem (Frances) Thiemann, August (Gertrude) Thiemann, Arnold (Antonia) Thiemann, Alois (Marion) Thiemann, Edmund (Gertrude) Thiemann and Leo Thiemann; 2 sisters: Rose (Joseph) Schmidt and Catherine Thiemann; and by 2 brothers-in-law: Albert and Edward Helmink. The prayer service for Ray was held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. from Schuler - Lefebvre Funeral Chapel in Humboldt, led by Glen Taphorn, with music ministry by Anna Marie Moellenbeck. Others taking part in the service were: Megan Thiemann and Tracy Muyres, readers; and Don Froehlich, eulogist. The Funeral Mass was offered on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Gregory R.C. Church in St. Gregor, concelebrated by Father Darryl Millette and Fr. Daniel Muyres, OSB. Others taking part in the Mass were: Maxine Moore and Anna Marie Moellenbeck, music ministry; Lawrie Gusikoski, crossbearer; Krista Thiemann and Natasha Thomas, readers; Tracy Muyres, intentions; Jennifer Tumbach - Lueke and Kayla Lueke, giftbearers; "All those who shared in Ray's Life", honorary pallbearers; and Ryan Muyres, Travis Lueke, Christian Tumbach, Kevin Wiesner, Kelly Wiesner and Jason Thiemann, active pallbearers.
