The peaceful death of Mrs. Margaret Brecht (nee Bay), 83 years of age, occurred on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon surrounded by her family. Marg was born on April 17, 1932 to Michael and Ann (nee Kuzyk) Bay and grew up on the family farm in the Bay Trail area, attending Bay Trail School. She worked in a caf茅 until she met Bill Brecht. Marg and Bill where married on November 11, 1950. They lived in a few communities throughout Saskatchewan and in Vermillion, AB for 2 years before returning to Humboldt were Marg has resided ever since. She kept busy raising her family, worked at various jobs around the community before beginning her 26 year career at St. Mary鈥檚 Villa as a nurse鈥檚 aide. Marg and Bill enjoyed camping at various lakes throughout the province and enjoyed their time spent together at their cabin at Stoney Lake. They made many trips to Vegas with friends and a memorable trip to Nashville. They enjoyed bowling together over the years. Bill passed away in 1992. Marg also enjoyed bingo and visiting with friends over a game of cards. She enjoyed watching sports on TV cheering on her favourite teams Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Marg loved to crochet and made afghans for every one of her grandchildren. She also donated her works of art and delicious baking to the church bazaars. Marg was an amazing cook and baker known for her perogies and potato pancakes. She made sure all her children knew how to cook before they left home. Over the years Marg was involved with the Legion, CWL, Senior鈥檚 Club and Good Neighbour Store. Marg will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her six children, 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren: WALLACE(Lynne) Brecht of Humboldt and family, Ryan(Phuong) Brecht and children Kingston and Raiden of Regina, Mitchell(Kara) Brecht of Saskatoon, Aaron(Kim) Nasipayko and children Elijah and Leila of Vernon, BC, Kerry(Blair) Hoppe and children Jayda, Ben and Jake of Humboldt, Jesse(Jorges) Langevin and children Nova and Tryton of Humboldt; LORI(Wes) Ennis of Echo Lake and family, Cara (Tony) Plett and children Avrie and Judah of Leduc, AB, Abby Ennis of Calgary, AB, Michel(Jennifer) Ennis and family, Jacob and Jonathan of Langley, BC; JOANNE Britz(Neil Hutsel) of Moose Jaw and family, Amanda(Van) Austin and son Samuel of Regina, Dustin(Clare) Britz and son Parker of Regina, Holly(Cory) Paetsch and children Olivia and Raina of Regina; BARBARA(Stuart) Moskaluke of Davidson and family, Graham Moskaluke of Regina, Joel Moskaluke of Saskatoon, Dana Moskaluke of Regina; DENISE(Les) White and daughter Baylie of Davidson; PATRICK(Leslie) Brecht and family, Mackenzi Brecht, Zoe Brecht, Talyn Brecht all of Peace River, AB; sisters and brothers: Marion Tracey of Saskatoon, Olga Blom of Saskatoon, Mervin(Verna) Bay of Humboldt, Phyllis Bay(Larry) of Saskatoon, Harvey(Barb) Bay of Saskatoon and numerous nieces and nephews. Marg was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Ann Bay; her husband, Bill Brecht; son-in-law, Niel Britz and brothers-in-law, Tuck Tracey and Peter Blom. A Funeral Mass for Marg was offered on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Augustine R.C. Church celebrated by Fr. Cosmas Epifano, OSB. Interment took place at St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Marg may be directed to Humboldt District Hospital Foundation Ron Bell Cardiac Endowment Fund or STARS.
