Evelyn (nee Kramer) Poncelet, 90 years old of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt, SK, and formerly of Meacham and Bruno, passed away at her residence on Saturday, December 20, 2014. Evelyn was born on December 11, 1924 in Bruno to Peter and Margaret (nee Hazelwanter) Kramer. She received her education at Bruno Elementary School taught by the nuns. Evelyn continued to work on her parent's dairy farm until she married John Poncelet of Meacham on October 26, 1948. Together they operated a mixed farm on the original Poncelet homestead near Meacham raising cattle, pigs, chickens, growing wheat and other grains, and milked cows for cream. Evelyn was a hard worker, had a strong faith, and was devoted to her family. Both Evelyn and John particularly enjoyed their eight grandchildren, but unfortunately, John passed away October 21, 1998, before he could enjoy their five great-grandchildren. Luckily the family had celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary earlier in the summer. Evelyn continued to live on the family farm with her sons, Neil and Kevin Poncelet and family, until 2011. Evelyn moved to the Harry Ford Center in Humboldt, November of 2011 and continued to live there until the summer of 2014. A steady decline in health led to many hospital stays and finally a move to St. Mary's Villa. Evelyn had a lovely distinctive voice and was an excellent singer in the church choir. She enjoyed growing plants and flowers, and also enjoyed dancing; and she was also the bookkeeper for the farm business. Evelyn could always appreciate a good laugh. Her voice, laughter, and presence in our lives will be greatly missed. Evelyn will be greatly missed and remembered forever by her four children, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: JANICE Poncelet of Victoria, BC; KEVIN (Elizabeth) Poncelet of Meacham, SK, and family, Heather (Adam) Tetzlaff and children, Lucas and Logan, Lisa (Travis) Tetzlaff and children, Isaac and Wyatt, Sarah (Arlen) Gerbrandt and son Bryler, Emily Poncelet; NEIL Poncelet of Meacham SK; CAROL (Wayne) Poncelet/Lacey of Martensville, SK, and family, Kristin Lacey, Ian Lacey, Janelle Lacey, Jonathan Lacey; brothers-in-law: John Nykyforchyn, Roman (Ann) Poncelet; sisters-in- law: Isabel Hoffman, Blanche Poncelet, Katherine Kramer; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Margaret Kramer; husband, John Poncelet; brothers, Kenneth Kramer, and Lynn (Delphine) Kramer, sister Bernice Nykyforchyn; brothers-in-law: Leo (Eva) Poncelet, George (Helen) Poncelet, Dominic (Cecelia) Poncelet, Edward Poncelet, Bernard (Dorothy) Poncelet, Nick Hoffman; sisters-in-law: Susan (John) Welter, Margaret (Alphonse) Hutmacher, Clara (Joe) Poth, Pearl (Henri) Basset; and a child Lawence Poncelet and two infants.
