It is with sadness that the family of Eugene William Myskiw, 91 years, of Humboldt and formerly of Lanigan, announce his passing on Monday, August 29, 2016 at St. Paul鈥檚 Hospital, Saskatoon. Eugene was born on June 25, 1925 at Fir Mountain, SK to William and Emily (nee Herman) Myskiw. When he was young, the family moved to the Lanigan area. He attended Sydenham School, a local country school about a mile from their farm. Following his education, he began farming, a career which spanned his entire life. On June 25, 1953, he married Willa Browne, a young nurse who had come from Ontario to work in Lanigan鈥檚 first hospital. They were blessed with three daughters, Maurena, Kathryn and Patricia. Eugene was very involved with the Shriner鈥檚 over the years as well as 小蓝视频 a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed curling, fishing, travelling, music and dancing and visiting with anyone and everyone. He took great pride in his yard and enjoyed the time spent grooming it. In November 2013, he moved to Caleb Village in Humboldt. He enjoyed meeting new people and visiting with them as well as the many different entertainers who performed there. Eugene will be lovingly remembered by his three daughters, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren: Maurena (Gordon) Wyatt of Indian Head and family, Haley Wyatt (special friend Andy) of Hertfordshire, England and Ashley (Ryan) Katler and children Flint and Summer of Indian Head; Kathryn (David) Arnst of Jansen and family, Lyndsay (Devin) L鈥橦eureux and Brandon (Karly) Arnst and daughter Lexi, all of Jansen; and Patricia (Jim) Isbister of Drake; and sister, Evelyn (Elmer) Greve of Lanigan. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Emily Myskiw; wife Willa Myskiw; sister Helen (Godfrey) Christoph; parents-in-law George and Kathryn Browne; and brother-in-law George Ralph Browne. The Funeral Service for Eugene was held on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Knox United Church, Lanigan, officiated by Jack Robson. Interment followed in the Lanigan Cemetery. Memorial donations in Eugene鈥檚 memory may be made to the Arthritis Society of Canada, SK Division, Lung Association of Saskatchewan or Knox United Church. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt.
