In loving remembrance of a beautiful man, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Ernie Mervin Sobchyshyn, who passed peacefully at the Humboldt District Health Complex on June 10, 2016. Left to cherish his memory is his wife and soul-mate for 61 years Bernice Sobchyshyn of Humboldt, SK, his six children, thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren: Rene Rankin of Calgary, AB (John Rankin and sons Sean and Nathan); Mervin Sobchyshyn of Red Deer, AB and family, Joel (Janel Marshall and children Max and Ivy), Mario (Raelene Sobchyshyn and children Shelby and Clancy), Lacy (Jordon Eggerman and daughter Luna); Karen Laprairie of Saskatoon, SK (Leonard Laprairie and children Chelsea and Chandler); Shelley Hergott of Humboldt, SK (Mike Hergott and children Kristen and Kyle); Lisa Schlosser of Cudworth, SK (Brad Schlosser and daughter Jordan); and Neil Sobchyshyn of Red Deer, AB (Jody Ho and children Josh, Megan and Emma). Ernie is also survived by his step father-in-law Nick Schmitz of Quill Lake, SK; as well as, Gerald Samborski and family of Surrey, BC. A private family funeral service took place on June 17, 2016 at Ponass Lake Church where many of Ernie’s family lay to rest. A celebration of life followed in Humboldt with those whom Ernie loved most. Our gratitude to Tompkins Funeral Home in Wadena for taking care of our beloved Ernie. We love you Ernie, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. Thank-you for СÀ¶ÊÓƵ our guardian angel.
