WESLING - The family is saddened to announce the sudden passing of Mrs. Delaphine (nee Puetz) Wesling, 87 years of Humboldt at Humboldt District Hospital on Thursday, February 2, 2012. Delaphine was born on October 7, 1924 the eldest child to Isidor and Catherine (nee Muller) Puetz in the Marysburg area. She obtained her grade eight education at the Blume School. Delaphine ventured out to British Columbia where she worked for a short time and later returned to Saskatchewan and worked in Prince Albert. Along with her family she took an active part in the Assumption Church. On October 2, 1945 she married Alexander Wesling at the Assumption R.C. Church in Marysburg. She was very delighted to become a mother to two son's upon which the sun rose and set. Together they began farming in the area. Delaphine loved her life in the country and enjoyed to appreciate the wonders of nature. In the mid 50's they moved to Humboldt and she continued to take care of their family home and her sons. When the grandchildren and great grandchildren started to arrive her love for them grew deeper and deeper as she was very proud of them and their accomplishments. All though a very private person Delaphine loved to share a good card game with family and friends. She loved to visit and entertain and crochet items for her family. Delaphine was vibrant and interested in life, also a good source of information about years past in the family. When trying to recall some happening of years ago, you could count on Del to remember. Delaphine will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her two sons, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren: Eric (Rick) Wesling (Faye) of Calgary and his family Keltie (Hemi) Wesling - Macgregor and children Huia, Kahu and Rere of New Zealand, Kresse Wesling (James Henrit) of Bournemouth, United Kingdom and Jon Wesling (Tricia Nudd)of Vancouver, BC; and David (Marie) Wesling of Humboldt and family Lara (Clint) Berschiminsky and children Jordan and Jenae of Saskatoon and Ashley (Heidi) Wesling and children Burke and Kate of Regina; seven sisters: Beatrice Parker, Irene Evans, Bernice Pasmeny, Bernadine Carlson, Sheila Faul, Annette Puetz and Linda Johnson; three brothers: Gerald Puetz, Murray Puetz and Robert Puetz; numerous nieces, nephews and members of the Wesling family. Delaphine was predeceased by her mother Catherine, her step-mother Agnes (nee Doppler), three sisters Marie Muench, Darlene Dufresne, and Mildred Cameron. The Prayer Service was held on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. presided by Nestor Trach with organist Darlene Cash. Scripture readers were, Jon Wesling and Ashley Wesling. Words of remembrance were given by Eric (Rick) Wesling. The Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Demetrius Wasylyniuk OSB. Others taking part in the mass were: cross bearer Ashley Wesling, intentions Jon Wesling, gift bearers Lara Berschiminsky and Heidi Wesling and urn bearer Jon Wesling. Honorary pallbearers were: "All those who shared in Delaphine's life". Interment will follow at a later date in the St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery Humboldt. Memorial donations in Delaphine's memory may be directed to Humboldt District Hospital Foundation or St. Augustine Parish Center.
