It is with broken hearts that the family of Darcy Allan David Fisher of the Bruno, SK, district announces his sudden and unexpected passing at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, SK, on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. He was 36 years of age. Darcy was born on April 15, 1979, to Gerald “Bud” and Traci (nee Weber) Fisher at Humboldt Hospital, and raised on the family farm in the Bruno district. He attained his Grade 9 education at Bruno School, then attended St. Peter’s College in Muenster, SK. And after graduating from Grade 12, he enrolled in the welding course at Carlton Trail Regional College and received his Journeyman Welder Certificate, becoming a welder by trade. Darcy’s hobbies and interests included welding, collecting old tractors, attending auction sales, having coffee with family and friends, taking road trips to Alberta, fabricating and designing a variety of itemsand his love of mechanics. He was a devoted “Dodge man”, and loved his truck “Pinky”. Everything was supped up and high speed. Darcy lived life to the fullest. On October 16, 2013, his life was changed after a serious accident in Alberta, but he still maintained his zest for life and was determined that change wouldn’t hold him back. “I’ll be home at 8:00.” Darcy is survived by his mother, Traci Fisher; three brothers, one sister, and their families: Bryce(Raquel) Fisher, son Tylor and granddaughter Hayden; David Fisher and children Dalas(Aaron) Cone, and Janae; Corey(Crystal) Fisher and children Tyler, Deanna and Norman; and Debbie(Adam) Lissel and children Samantha and Kyra; paternal grandmother, Clara Fisher; maternal grandmother, Verna Weber; a very special aunt and uncle, Leanne and Darren Poppel and cousin, Scott Poppel; and by other aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. He was predeceased by his father, Gerald “Bud” Fisher (March 21, 2015); paternal grandfather, Leo Fisher; and by his maternal grandfather, Victor Weber. The Prayer Service for Darcy was held at St. Augustine R.C. Church, Humboldt, on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. Scripture readers were Ruth Embury, Jess Schneider and Ed Keryliuk, the eulogy was delivered by Al Fisher, and the memorial table attendants were Bernadette Leuchs and Kendra Letwin. The Funeral Mass was offered on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Joseph Ackerman, OSB. Others taking part were: Riely Ebner, crossbearer; Luke Montpetit and Jerome Montpetit, altar servers; Ruth Embury and Jess Schneider, scripture readers; David Fisher, intentions; Michelle Ebner and Juaneta Bendig, giftbearers; Bernadette Leuchs and Kendra Letwin, memorial table attendants. Active pallbearers were David Fisher, Tyler Fisher, Trent Ebner, Scott Poppel, Daryl Letwin and Matt Mosicki. Honorary pallbearers were “all those who shared in Darcy’s life”. Interment followed at St. Bruno R.C. Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to either Canadian Cancer Society Stem Cell Research or a charity of your choice.
