The sudden and tragic death of Cody Taylor Lamping, 15 years, of St. Gregor, occurred at Humboldt District Hospital on July 13, 2010. Cody was born on December 14, 1994 to Randy and Meredith (nee Krysa) Lamping in Humboldt. The family moved to St. Gregor when he was just a baby and he spent the rest of his childhood there. He attended Muenster School up until this past year, when he attended Humboldt Collegiate Institute. Cody was a tough kid, who was hard working and always tried his best in everything he did. He had an easy going nature and was very good with his younger sister Paige and all of his cousins. Cody taught himself how to play the guitar and often wrote his own songs. He enjoyed travelling, snowboarding and playing football for the HCI Mohawks. He excelled at TaeKwon-Do, competing at high level tournaments. He was the second best in Western Canada and was looking forward to competing in Vancouver at Nationals in November with his goal to be able to compete at the Worlds in New Zealand. Cody's grandma Marlene was very special to him and he was very sad when she passed away just last year. Cody will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his parents, Randy and Meredith of St. Gregor; sister, Paige Lamping of St. Gregor; grandparents, Hugo Lamping of Bruno and Mike and Olive (nee Benson) Krysa of Humboldt; great grandmother, Alvina Weiman of Bruno; uncles and aunts: Lois (Lyle) Gartner of Wakaw, Wendy Kuka (Dave Wanhella) of Humboldt, Terry (Christine) Lamping of Bruno, Norm (Kathy) Krysa of Lanigan, Joyce (Rob) Blum of Swift Current, Alan Krysa of Saskatoon, Bev Krysa of Regina, Darlene Krysa (Dave Benson) of Humboldt and Maryann (Herman) Reiffersheid of Fulda; numerous cousins and special friend, Karman. He was predeceased by his grandma Marlene (nee Weiman) Lamping; uncle Dennis Kuka; great grandparents: John Weiman, William & Anna Lamping, Wes & Ida Benson and Harry & Julia Krysa. The Prayer Service for Cody was held on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. and the Funeral Mass was offered on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Both services were held at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, Bruno, celebrated by Fr. Joe Ackerman, OSB. Others taking part in the services were: organist, Denise Krentz; crossbearer, Adrienne Reiffersheid; altar servers, Jade Walker and Carly Huber; readers, Jen and Patrick Pulvermacher; intentions, Kirstin Kuka and Jenna Harty; gift bearers, Brianna Moisan and Colton Moisan; and memorial table attendants, Kay Gartner-Jasken, Arnella Krentz and Sherry Dust. Honorary Pallbearers were members of the HCI Mohawks Football Team and the Annaheim TaeKwon-Do Club. Pallbearers were Cole Gartner, Jesse Lamping, Sean Miller, Kyle Klassen, Justin Moisan and David Buchacher. Interment followed in the St. Bruno Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations in Cody's memory may be made to a Trust Fund for Meredith and Paige Lamping. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt (306-682-1622).
