ECKERT: Clifford

With sadness in our hearts we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Cliff passed away on November 5th after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by his loving family, quietly and peacefully, he left to join his Mom and Dad, Mary and Henry Eckert. He leaves to mourn his passing, his children & grandchildren Trevor & Janet (Kristina/Shane, Kyle/Jaymie, Carissa/Keaton/Carson, Kyle/Brittany/Rowan), Shawn & Kendra (Ryder/Jodie/Preston, Laci and Aidan), Brent & Cheryl (Kelli) and Cindy & Richard (Myja and Brooke) and the mother of his children, Yvonne. Also mourning his loss are his brothers and sisters and their families, Ron (Clara), Irene (George), Syl (Donna), Dennis (Wanda), Jane (Myron) and MaryLee (Mark). Our family enjoyed many special times, through laughter and tears on this journey with him and we all have many wonderful memories of our time with him. Cliff worked hard his entire life and he took great pride in his work and his family. He spent many years with Saskatchewan Wheat Pool as an electrician & he was very proud of his Journeyman status – he was generous with his many talents as a painter, builder, and a general handyman, often spending his weekends and holidays working on his family’s homes. He had a wonderful sense of humour, a sharp wit and he loved to flirt with the ladies. Even as his illness progressed he flirted with his health care team. We are all very grateful for the kindness and respect the nurses and doctors at St. Paul’s Hospital PCU gave Cliff and our entire family during his time there and with this in mind we ask that in lieu of floral tributes, any donations on his behalf be made to the Palliative Care Unit through their website at www.stpaulshospital.org. The family is honouring Cliff’s wishes for no funeral service and we will celebrate his life during a private memorial at a later date.
