Cliff Schlosser March 19, 1930 - November 24, 2011

The Schlosser family is sad to announce the passing of Clarence Clifford (Cliff) Schlosser of Humboldt, which occurred on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at the Humboldt District Hospital. He was 81 years of age. Left to cherish Cliff's memory is his wife of 56 years Mary(nee Weiman) Schlosser of Humboldt; his son Gary (Diana) Schlosser of Lloydminster SK, and their children Katrina (Derek) Robinson of Regina, and Chelsey Schlosser of Lloydminster; his daughter Lori (Al) Hrynkiw of Big River, SK, and their son Jeff Hrynkiw of Saskatoon; his sisters and brother; Rita Bellerive of Edmonton AB, Angie Mills of Saskatoon; Benji Schlosser (Mary Corniere) of Humboldt, and Ella (Len) Bobinski of Humboldt; sisters-in-law: Geraldine Schlosser of Humboldt and Dorille Schlosser; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Margaret (nee Lummerding) Schlosser; his brothers: Joseph (JB), Raymond, Herbert, and Edmund Schlosser; two brothers-in-law: Paul Bellerive and Ernie Mills; and his sister-in-law Lucy Schlosser. Cliff was born in Bruno on March 19, 1930 to Margaret and Joseph Schlosser. He received his education in Bruno and worked for his dad in the family business, Schlosser's Garage. In 1960 Herb and Cliff purchased Humboldt Motors Limited and the Ford dealership in Humboldt. In 1964 they purchased the Mercury dealership. He was involved with the Ford Motor Company for 49 years and was in the automotive industry for another 16. Cliff spent ten years on town council, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, and the Royal Canadian Legion. Cliff loved to travel and took his family on many vacations across Canada, the United States, and on a memorable vacation to Germany. Cliff enjoyed watching all major sports, taking special interest in the Humboldt Broncos. He enjoyed playing cards and was a very competitive player. Cliff also enjoyed many fishing trips with his friends. The Prayer Service for Cliff was held on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 7:30 pm at St. Augustine R.C. Church in Humboldt, led by Nestor Trach; others taking part were: Denise Germain, music; Katrina Robinson and Corie Hetzel, readers; and Katrina Robinson, Jeff Hrynkiw and Chelsey Schlosser, eulogists. The Funeral Mass was offered on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 2:00 pm. at St. Augustine R.C. Church celebrated by Father Emile April. Others taking part in the Mass were: Susanne Bernhard, crossbearer; Vicki Aitaok and Corie Hetzel, readers; Kathy Hartlaub, intentions; Gary Schlosser and Lori Hrynkiw, gift bearers; St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir, music ministry; Sandra Athmer, soloist; Knights of Columbus, Honor Guard; "All those who shared in Cliff's life", Honorary Pallbearers; Katrina Robinson, Jeff Hrynkiw, Mike Schlosser, Chelsey Schlosser, Derek Robinson and Jason Bobinski, Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Humboldt District Hospital Foundation (General Equipment Fund) or St. Augustine's Parish Building Fund. Arrangements were entrusted to Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, SK.
